Panama Catuai - Specialty Coffee

Elida Estate is offering some of the best coffees in Panama and this Catuai Natural is no exception.  We have fallen in love with this roast as a straight espresso but it also some has amazing flavor as a pour over.

We taste Peaches, Red Grapes and Brown Sugar.  A sweet cup with a long finish.

The Lamastus family has been cultivating coffee at Elida Estate since 1918. Three generations of Lamastus men operate the farm: the grandfather, Thatcher, his son Wilford and his son Wilford Jr. They share a passion for producing high-quality coffees like this Catuai Natural. There are three farms in the Lamastus family: Elida Estate, El Burro Estate, and Luito Geisha Estate.

With elevations between 5500 and 8200 feet above sea level, Elida is the highest coffee farm in Panama, although coffee is only grown between 5600 and 6200 feet. A large part of the farm is a dedicated ecological reserve area in Volcan Baru National Park, a world heritage site. Elida is producing some of the best, if not the best coffee in Panama today.
