O.W.L stands for One World Linked—and that’s the heart of our why

O.W.L. Coffee Roasters was born from both a deep respect for the craft of coffee and a passion for connection. With two of our three founders trained as Registered Dietitians, we’ve always approached food as a source of both nourishment and joy. Roasting coffee allows us to creatively explore the science and artistry of food—bringing out the unique story behind every bean and honoring the producer’s work through every carefully crafted cup.

Like cooking or baking, roasting coffee is about timing, patience, and precision. Managing the heat, data, and watching and listening to the bean throughout the roast is merging science and intuition. It’s a way for us to engage deeply with our craft, explore flavor, and deliver something truly special.

But coffee is more than just a beverage—it’s a bridge. It invites conversation, creates space for community, and helps people feel seen. That belief became even more personal when I began volunteering with Meals on Wheels of Boulder County—an organization I first encountered at age 7 with my Granny.  After stepping away from a job I held for a decade, I found myself searching for purpose again. The act of showing up, delivering meals, and meaningful conversations with my clients,  reminded me just how powerful human connection is—and how many people are living without it.

This experience has inspired our mission: to roast coffee that not only tastes incredible, but also creates an opportunity to connect—whether through a shared cup with a neighbor, a thoughtful gift to a friend, or a warm moment with a stranger.

We’re proud to offer thoughtfully roasted beans and specialty pour over cups—because we believe that great coffee can link one world, one story, one community at a time.

Our Values

At O.W.L Coffee Roasters our mission is to craft exceptional speciality coffee that brings people together. We source the finest coffee beans from small farmers and roast them with precision and care, ensuring every cup reflects our commitment to quality, sustainability, and community.

We believe coffee is more than a delicious beverage – it’s a source of energy, inspiration and connection. It’s the warmth of shared stories, the comfort of companionship, and the spark that propels you through training sessions, early mornings, and the pursuit of your goals. Whether you’re gearing up for a big race, preparing for a long day at work, or sharing a moment with friends, our coffee can help bridge and unite us in an often disconnected world.

We are committed to extending our mission through a nonprofit volunteer initiative. Inspired by the Framingham Heart Study’s finding that loneliness is a leading risk factor for heart disease, we aim to create spaces where coffee fosters connection, friendship, and well-being. This program will match volunteers with community members who face barriers, such as limited mobility or isolation, to meet over a cup of coffee modeled after programs like Big Brothers Big Sisters, our “Coffee Companions” initiative will use our freshly roasted beans to spark meaningful conversations, build lasting relationships, and strengthen the fabric of our community.
